To Joe Paterno: RIP. To the victims: Live in Peace.

Share Joe Paterno, the embodiment of Byron's verse about "feet of clay," has died.

"That spell upon the minds of men Breaks never to unite again, That led them to adore Those Pagod things of sabre-sway, With fronts of brass, and feet of clay."

As is our habit, we worshiped a man instead of an ideal.

Yes, RIP, Joe Paterno.

But to the victims of a program created by a flawed man with feet of clay: Live in Peace.
